Job Description

REVIEWS UB04B BILLING FORMS IN ELECTRONIC FORMAT FOR COMPLETENESS AND CORRECTNESS OF INFORMATION (IE. DATE OF SERVICE, R&B CHARGES, ER CHARGES, CPT codes, Occurrence Codes, ).  CHECK REVENUE CODES FOR CORRECTNESS.  FORWARD ANY BILLING DISCREPANCY TO CHARGE VALIDATION NURSE FOR CORRECTION AND/OR CLARIFICATION.  REVIEW ACCOUNTS FOR NEEDED MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION; REQUEST AS NEEDED.  BILLS WITH REQUIRED INFORMATION TO ENSURE TIMELY FILING.  RECEIVES REBILL REQUESTS.  RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCURATE COMPLETION OF DAILY & WEEKLY BILLING LOGS. 

Qualifications

A.   Minimum Education:  HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR EQUIVALENT.

 

B.   Minimum Experience:  MUST HAVE 3 YRS HOSPITAL BILLING EXPERIENCE.  ACTIVE KNOWLEDGE OF MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY AND ICD-9/CPT4 CODES, BOOKKEEPING KNOWLEDGE.  ABILITY TO TYPE 40-50 WPM. BLS Certification required. The training will be provided upon hire at no expense to the employee.
